About · Statement of Faith

What we believe

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church stands in the historic evangelical, biblical faith. These core convictions shape our worship, teaching, and life together.

The Bible

We believe the Bible — Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final rule for faith, life, and practice.

One God in Three Persons

We believe in one eternal God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power, glory, and being.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension, and personal, visible return in glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, empowers, and gifts every believer for worship, holy living, and ministry.

Humanity and Sin

We believe every person is created in the image of God, yet is fallen and separated from God by sin, in need of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ alone — not earned by works.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ — a family of believers from every nation, tribe, and tongue — called to worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and mission.

The Ordinances

We practice believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper as instituted by Christ for the strengthening and witness of His people.

The Great Commission

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share the Gospel, make disciples, love our neighbors, and serve our community — locally and globally.

The Return of Christ and Eternity

We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal life of the redeemed with God.
